Help & support
Stuck, confused, or found a bug? Email dested@gmail.com and a real human (the dad who makes SceneBeans) will get back to you. Tell us what iPad you're on and what happened — a photo or screen recording helps a lot.
Getting started
SceneBeans is a game-maker for kids. Follow the adventure trail from the first node and each stop teaches one new idea by having you build and play a real game. There's nothing to read first and no wrong way to poke around — tap a thing to open it, and press play any time to try your game.
Common questions
Is it really free?
Yes. You can play the starter games, follow the beginning of the trail, and build your own games for free. One optional purchase — the "Whole Workshop" unlock — opens everything forever, with no subscription and no repeat charges. It's a one-time unlock behind a parental gate.
Does my child need an account or the internet?
No account, ever, and no internet needed to play. Everything runs on the iPad and saves on the iPad. See our privacy policy — the short version is we collect nothing.
I bought the unlock but don't see it
Open SceneBeans, go to the store screen, and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase, it will come right back. The unlock also works across your family via Apple Family Sharing.
My child recorded a sound and it's not working
SceneBeans needs microphone permission to record sound effects. Open the iPad's Settings → SceneBeans and make sure Microphone is turned on, then try again. The app works fine without it if you'd rather skip recording.
Which iPads are supported?
SceneBeans is built for iPad running a recent version of iPadOS. It is an iPad-only app — it is not designed for iPhone.
How do I delete everything?
Because all data lives on the device, deleting the app removes every game and all progress. There is nothing stored on our servers to clear.
